Goodbye Virginia, Γειά σου Αθήνα

Well tomorrow is our departure date for Athens. It feels like it has been an eternity but it has finally arrived. The movers took our belongings for shipment/storage on September 27th and they picked up our car on October 1 so everything should be well on its way by now.

We have a 1:30 flight from Washington to New York and then a 4:00 flight from New York to Athens. We arrive at 09:10 Athens time on Thursday morning. Our sponsors will pick us up and take us to our place and to the Embassy so we know how to get from one to the other. David should not have to do too much work until Monday so we can spend Thursday-Sunday getting used to the neighborhood and trying to learn our way around.

We will let you know via the blog once we get access to the Internet so we can use our Vonage number to contact you and you us. I I hope to have pictures of our neighborhood and place posted at that time as well. The Internet could take some time since we will be working on Greek time and not American time. As you can all imagine Greek time will be a fun experience for David and I to get used to.

As you can probably tell the blog is going to work as our way of communicating with you guys from Athens. I will do my best to post something daily (once we get our Internet) to keep you updated. Feel free to post responses. Of course once our phone is up and running we will love to hear from you via phone as well. Just remember the time difference.

All for now take care and we will talk to you once we get settled in Athens!
