Recently David and I took John David to the park for his first real trip to the playground. He loved it! He especially loved going down the slide and when he got to the bottom he would immediately try to climb back up on his own. I have yet to find any swings for him or even any swings that I could swing with him in but we are still looking. Luckily there is no shortage of parks in Brussels for us to explore.

Easter
We celebrated Easter a few weeks ago at the Embassy's Easter party. We had lovely weather and Mom was still in town so she joined us. John David was not too sure about the Easter bunny and he wasn't too concerned about finding eggs either--maybe next year! |
Now that I look at this that Easter bunny is pretty scary
hunting for eggs
we pretty much concentrated on that first egg for the rest of the hunt

Trip to Normandy
The first weekend that Mom and Dad were visiting we drove to Normandy, France. It was a very humbling and awe inspiring place and I am so glad we got the chance to go. John David really well considering that it was a 5 hour drive and while we were their he spent most of the time being held or in a backpack carrier. We hired a tour guide who spent the day with us on Sunday and he was wonderful and very informative. Below are a few pictures from our visit.

John David's Birthday
Sorry this is so late! With mom and dad here and the nice weather posting dropped way down on my list of priorities. Here are a few pictures from John David's actual birthday and from his Monkey themed birthday party.
There are not that many pictures from his party because shortly after he ate his cake he completely passed out in my arms and went to bed for the remainder. Being 1 is hard work!
When he woke up in the morning the first thing he saw was his huge ball tent from Gigi and Dandy
Presents
Music Class is on Friday so Grandma and Grandpa got to see John David in action playing with the instruments
First taste of cake. He wasn't too sure about it at first but before we knew it he was digging in!
1st Birthday Party
