Mykonos

We just got back from 4 days in beautiful Mykonos, Greece with Dan, Stacey, Colin and Sean. We had an absolutely amazing time. The weather was beautiful and the beaches were amazing. Mykonos is probably the most well known Greek island, famous for its wild parties but with a 3 year old and a 3 month old we did not partake in the partying. We are so glad that summer has arrived in Greece and excited that this one will be our last. While we will surely miss our friends, the weather and the beaches it is time for a change. Enjoy the pictures.

Dinner on our last night. We all agreed that this was the best Greek food we had ever had. We liked it so much we had dinner here twice.

Monemvasia

Last weekend we drove down to Monemvasia which is on the coast about 4 hours away from Athens and it was spectacular.  It is a little island and is closer to a large rock an than island which has an old fort.  We stayed in this little hotel with a great view of the sea and just walked around the little city and relaxed.  Below are some pictures from our weekend.

Prague

We just got back from an amazing 3 day trip to Prague to celebrate our 2nd Anniversary. Prague is just as amazing as everyone says. It was pretty cold this time of year especially for us coming from having 50s and 60s this winter in Athens. We arrived around 6:30 on Friday night to without a doubt one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in (I would put it in my top 3). The service was amazing. Once we arrived we were given a short tour of the hotel which is small (only 19 rooms) but very cute and very well maintained and then taken up to the roof restaurant for drinks and a snack while the concierge talked to us about the hotel and gave us some suggestions for what we should visit while in Prague. We we got to our room there was a bottle of wine waiting and a cheese plate and not 15 minutes after the hotel brought us an amazing dessert (see below) to help celebrate our anniversary. That night we had dinner in the roof restaurant with a spectacular view of the city. On Saturday we visited the Prague Castle and walked around the old city. It was in the 20s which was pretty cold for us but we were pretty bundled up as you can see and we stopped frequently for beer and hot wine to warm up. On Sunday we did more sightseeing and walking and had the most amazing dinner at a restaurant made from a converted wine cellar. On Monday when we woke up it was snowing with about 2 inches on the ground and the city looked amazing. Luckily we didn't have any trouble getting out at the airport and back to reality in Athens. For a country that was occupied by Fascism and Communism for so many years it is amazing how well preserved everything is and how much they have embraced capitalism. Prague is truly a remarkable city and if you have the chance to visit Europe your trip would not be complete without a short visit.
