Dutch Tulips

This past Sunday we jumped in the car and drove 2.5 hours to Holland to see their famous Keukenhof tulips (It still blows my minds a little that we can jump in the car and drive in The Netherlands).  I knew I had to see what all the fuss was about before I left Belgium and wasn't sure if we would get the chance next Spring.  Let me tell you we were not disappointed.  It was phenomenal!  Take a look at the pictures before to see for yourself.

We were not even visiting at the peak. You can see in some of the pictures, beds that have yet to bloom. They have the flowers timed so there is always something in bloom from mid-March to the end of April. Again extremely impressive.

They also had a small petting zoo with a calf, goats, chickens and bunnies. As well as playgrounds, restaurants and coffee and gift shops.

Here is David enjoying some Dutch smoked Herring from one of the food carts. He said is was good but it is hard to tell from the pictures.

  1. Wow! So beautiful. It makes me wish we'd made a stopover in Holland on our way to see you last year.
