8 Months Old

John David turned 8 Months old on Thanksgiving day. It is amazing how fast these last few months have gone. The biggest moment this month was when he started pulling himself up. Since then he has started to get a little cocky and has mastered the one hand hold. We know it will only be a matter of time before he tries to let go and start standing on his own. Another big event this month was Grandma Isenhour's visit which was a big hit. John David as well and Mom and Dad were very spoiled during her visit and we all agree that she need to come back again soon. John is starting to get the hang of feeding himself finger foods. Really the only thing we have given him are little rice puffs and some Cheerios but he has gone from pushing them off the highchair onto the floor to actually sticking them into his mouth so we are making progress. We are going to try little pieces of banana and some avocado this weekend and see how he does. He loves playing with all of his toys but has is usually the case has the most fun with empty boxes, remote controls and generally anything he is not supposed to get into like extension cords and the humidifier.

We went to the Doctor for his 8 month check-up on Tuesday and she said that he is perfect. He weighs 9 kg which is about 19.8 pounds and was 69 centimeters long which is about 27.16 inches. He is still working on his first tooth but it has to be any day now.

Here are a few recent pictures.

Playing in the packing paper after we got our stuff

Playing with his Winnie the Pooh Bear

This was David's sweater when he was this age.  I have been trying to get a decent picture of him  while he is wearing it and this is the best I have come up with so far (not his best work)

Working hard!

He loved this ball popper at Dan and Stacey's

Figuring it out

This is about as interested in the Christmas Tree as he gets which is fine by me
